Jackson first fielded a varsity football team in 1930 when Jackson High School is formed through a consolidation of numerous one-room school houses. They competed in numerous leagues with other Stark County schools, until 1964 when they became a charter member of the Federal League, along with Glenwood, Fairless, Marlington, Perry, South and Sandy Valley. They have been a member of the Federal League ever since. Jackson has compiled an overall record of 420-301-19 for an all-time winning percentage of 0.582. In the Federal Leage, their record is 167-123-13 for a winning percentage of 0.576. In their history Jackson has had 18 Head Coaches. The coach with the most wins and highest winning percentage belongs to Robert Fife with an amazing record of 110-42-1 (.722). It is for this reason that the current Polar Bears play at Robert Fife Stadium. |
